McWilliams on target as Carrick II defeat NICS
With six goals to their credit from their opening two matches and having conceded only once, NICS must have been hopeful of building on this impressive form against a Carrick squad which had so far this season scored only a single goal.
Two well-taken strikes from Natalie Hall and Natasha McWilliams, plus an own goal from a Rosemary Hay cross into the circle, emphatically ended NICS’ run of wins as Carrick grabbed their first victory of the season in style.

Hide AdThe game was far from one-sided, however, and Carrick had their in-form goalkeeper Karen Nelson to thank for a string of excellent saves which denied the visitors any chance of getting themselves on the scoresheet. Carrick Player of the Match: Karen Nelson
Elsewhere within the club, however, there was much less to cheer about with Carrick 1st XI going down 2-0 away to Grosvenor in Senior Two and their 3rd XI squad suffering a 9-0 mauling away to Mossley.
This was, however, only the second game of the season for the youthful third squad who had opened their new season with an encouraging away point at Parkview and are already looking forward to redeeming themselves in their next match.
