Dalriada U13s have girl power
And what’s more, this was the first time girls were playing in the boy’s team and Lucy Kirgan and Saskia Love certainly did not let their side down!
Falling behind to a 10th minute strike from Dominican College, the Ballymoney squad showed great resilience to lead 2-1 at the interval, thanks to excellent goals from Curtis Hanson and Stuart Wallace.

Hide AdLewis Nevin went on to cap a fine performance by securing victory with five minutes left, when he scored direct from a corner.
The match was a real hard fought victory for Dalriada, with Saskia Love receiving the player of the match award.
Saskia is playing for Linfield girls and is also in the Northern Ireland development squad. She is a superb hockey and netball player. Well done to both the girls for their fine performance.
Celebrations then ensued as Mr Stephen McCann, Director of Coleraine Football Club Academy, presented the McGarry cup to winning captain Dean Miller.

Hide AdThis completed a memorable double for the Ballymoney pupils, as this is the first time Dalriada have been crowned league champions in both the u12 and u13 sections in the same school year.
