Carrick Rangers impress as they record 3-1 win at Ballinamallard United
Premiership new-boys Carrick Rangers impressed as they claimed a 3-1 win over Ballinamallard United at Ferney Park.
Rangers opened the scoring on the half-hour mark when Kyle Cherry bundled the ball over the line after goalkeeper Alvin Rouse failed to hold Joe McNeill’s cross at the back post.

Carrick were reduced to 10 men when captain Aaron Harmon was red carded for an attempted headbut, but they raced into a three-goal lead when Mark Surgenor slid in to score after the Mallards again failed to clear their six yard box.
Winger Jason McCartney gave the home side some hope when he converted from the spot after 80 minutes when Lafferty was taken down.
