Bobby's the top scorer for Bann
Peter Hillen was the acting captain of the Banbridge team and he was fairly confident that they could produce a good team score.
The course was in excellent condition but it was the lightning fast greens, which bamboozled most of the Banbridge players.

That is easier said than done.
Bobby Geddis was top scorer for Banbridge with 34 points. Then came John Poots, Roy Rankin and Dennis Lockhart, all with 32 points.
That gave Banbridge a team score of 130 points.
It is not the best of starts but there are another nine rounds to play so all is not lost by any means.
Round two will be played at Portadown on Friday the 13th of May.
Incidentally, the other four players who didn’t feature at Downpatrick were Peter Hillen, Seamus McGrath, Fergie Cosgrove and Tony Ewbanks.
