Well done folks! Mayor's praise for local achievers

BALLYMENA Mayor, Cllr Maurice Mills has extended congratulations to a number of individuals, businesses and organisations on achievements attained recently.

At the outset of last Monday night’s, August meeting of Council, the following were among those included in his praise:

Acorn Homes and their site foreman, Alan White, on attaining a NHBC ‘Pride in the Job’ construction award for the Cornhill Country Estate in Kells and Connor.

Londonderry on winning its bid to be the first ever UK City of Culture in 2013.

Ballymena entrepreneur Willie Wright on being awarded a DSc(Eng) for services to engineering by Queen’s University.

Baroness Nuala O’Loan on receiving a Doctorate of Laws (LLD) from Queen's for distinction in public service.

Ian Paisley on taking a seat in the House of Lords.
