Police in Coleraine have arrested two people in connection with the production and supply of the class A drug cocaine.

Detective Inspector Tom McClure from Reactive and Organised Crime Branch said: “Officers carried out searches at four addresses across Coleraine on Wednesday 20th January as part of a proactive operation against what we believe is an organised crime gang involved in the production and supply of cocaine.

“At one of the addresses we uncovered a cocaine press and a large quantity of bulking agent along with drugs paraphernalia and other items used in cocaine production.

“We have arrested a 30-year-old woman and a 34-year-old man on suspicion of a number of drugs offences including ‘possession of class A drugs’ and ‘possession of class A drugs with intent to supply’ as well as ‘Conspiracy to supply Class A drugs’ and ‘being concerned in the production of class A drugs, namely cocaine.

“Both individuals remain in custody assisting us with our enquiries.”
