Whiteabbey church lights ‘giving a boost to residents’
The church’s committee decided to erect the lights, which are usually put up for the start of December, a couple of weeks earlier this year.
Speaking to the Times, a spokesperson for the committee said: “We felt it would be good to put the lights up in November this year to try and give the place a lift. Many people have faced uncertainty this year due to the pandemic and even though this is a small gesture, hopefully it is helping.

“They come on at 5.30am until 9am each morning and help to give people a boost at the start of each day. They then come on again from 4pm until 11pm.
“They will be up until the end of the year. The amount of people saying they are enjoying the lights this year has been amazing.”
