Mountvale at front of the Q for awards recognition

Private Nursing Home has been named Southern area runner-up in the Northern Ireland Amenity Council’s Best Kept Health and Social Care Facility award category. Meanwhile, in what a Mountvale spokesperson hailed a first for Northern Ireland, the nursing home has also picked up a Q Mark award. Staff at Mountvale are reportedly very proud to have taken the runners-up spot in the 2013 Best-Kept awards, all the more so for matching last year’s success. Thanking everyone who helped make possile the success, the spokesperson said, “We wouldn’t have achieved this without the help of Ronnie and his faithful team at “Gardens R Us” as well as Gavin at the Olde Mill Garden Centre, Dromore, who worked hard making sure our garden was looking its very best. “A big thank you also goes to Dobbies Garden Centre, Lisburn, who kindly donated a beautiful water feature as well as a variety of plants and garden accessories. “Together everyone brought our garden into full bloom to make it a place that residents could enjoy and feel at home in throughout the summer. Mountvale residents decided, as a gesture of appreciation, to make a card to show their thanks.” Of further success, she added, “We also are the first nursing home in Northern Ireland to have won an award for Q Mark.” The Excellence Ireland Quality Association (Q Mark) Awards celebrate the drive, commitment and achievements of nominated companies committed to quality in the island of Ireland. The awards are attended by more than 800 people each year and more than 25 award categories are celebrated on the evening of the gala ceremony. Mountvale picked up a Special Recognition Certificate for nunrsing homes. “We attended a night in Dublin arranged by Q Mark Awards,” the spokesperson said, “and we ourselves are celebrating this achievement on Friday 25 October, when we will be joined by the Q Mark Team, councillors and the Northern Ireland Health Minister, Edwin Poots, staff, family and friends.”
