HRH The Princess Royal visits Londonderry
As part of the Centenary of the First World War, the Woodland Trust is creating a Centenary Wood in four corners of the UK, and Northern Ireland’s is in the Faughan Valley, just off Glenshane Road.
During her visit the Princess Royal was given an overview of the Woodland Trust’s plans for the WWI commemorations, and the development of the woodland here.

Hide AdShe also met around 80 guests from all walks of public and civic life, and was invited to unveil la plaque to mark the launch of the Centenary Woods Project.
Prior to her departure she was presented with a hand-crafted wooden bowl by Trust Director, Patrick Cregg.
