Going sweet over your 'Grumpy Old Git'
Tins of the oddly named 'Grumpy Old Git Mints' have been flying off the shelves.
But it seems it takes a brave soul to go in and buy the sweets themselves in case it looks as if you are admitting to something.

Mark Steen of the Candy Store in Church Street, Ballymoney, which is a mecca for sweet lovers, said the distinctively named sweets are proving popular.
He said: "People usually see them and buy them for a bit of a giggle. Wives like buying them for their husbands for a laugh. It seems everybody has somebody in mind when they see them. Grumpy old gits don't really seem to buy them for themselves although some people do see the funny side of it all and have purchased a tin for themselves."
Similar tins can also be bought which have other messages for the people in your life like 'The Boss', 'Senior Moments', 'Man Flu', 'Domestic Goddess', 'Babe', 'Kiss With Confidence' and 'Golf'.

Another place in north Antrim where the 'Grumpy Old Git' sweets have been selling well is Diamond's newsagents in Ballymena's Broughshane Street and several people from the north of the county have been known to pop in there when in the 'City of the Seven Towers' to get a tin for their own 'Grumpy Old Git'!
