Councillors meet with Patient and Client Council
At the meeting Head of Operations, Ms Louise Skellyn, outlined the role of the Patient and Client Council which exists to provide an independent voice for people on health related issues.
The Patient and Client Council has recently produced a Report entitled ‘People’s Priorities’ which documents research findings on healthcare priorities for people across Northern Ireland. Priority 1 was found to be ‘Access to and Quality of Hospital Care’.

Hide AdCouncillor Stephen Martin, Chairman of the Council’s Corporate Services Committee thanked the Patient and Client Council for meeting them.
“The Patient and Client Council is an independent body which exists to represent the views of patients on the health service and this role is especially important in this time of change and healthcare reform,” he said.
“The meeting was an important introduction and the Council is keen to develop stronger relationships with the Patient and Client Council in a shared vision for a holistic approach to access and quality of hospital care in the future.”
