Hide AdPolice inquiries revealed he was not insured to drive the vehicle.
The owner was Rosemary McCallister who said she had given him permission to drive the vehicle. Both had no previous convictions.
A solicitor representing both defendants said that Rosemary McCallister believed the other defendant was insured.
He had been previously insured for the vehicle and had insurance for his own vehicle.
He added that Thomas McCallister had been driving back from a friend’s house and a loss of concentration led to the incident.
