Caught driving with no insurance policy

Six penalty points were imposed on a 60-year-old man last Friday at Craigavon Magistrates Court for driving without insurance on October 29 last year.

Manuel David De Sousa Teixeira, Avondale Manor, Craigavon, was also fined £200.

The court heard he was stopped by police while driving on the Seagoe Road, Portadown.

It transpired that his insurance cover had been cancelled by the company. A defending solicitor said that an email was sent from the insurance company but the defendant’s daughter failed to open the email.
