New season at the Grand Opera House

The new season commences with the eagerly awaited world premiere of Dancing Shoes – The George Best Story on July 28. Mummy Pig, Daddy Pig, Peppa and George pay a visit on August 21 and 22 for Peppa Pig's Party. The party continues with the return of West End sell out sensation Dreamboats and Petticoats from August 24 to September 4. Prior to her annual pantomime stint and following the phenomenal success of last year's sell out run, May McFettridge returns as Lizzie in A Happy Medium from September 8 to 11. The local flavour continues on September 13, when Brassneck Theatre Company present a week long run of A Night with George. Written by Brenda Murphy and Donna O'Connor and directed by Tony Devlin, A Night with George showcases the best in Belfast humour as the very ordinary Bridie Murphy takes the very glamourous 'George Clooney' on the journey of her life. Fame – The Musical backflips its way onto the Grand Opera House stage from September 21-26. The energy continues from September 28 through to October 2, as the truly glittering production of Dancing Queen arrives to dazzle Belfast audiences. Sunshine On Leith visits the theatre from October 5 to 9, featuring the songs of The Proclaimers, Sunshine on Leith follows the highs and lows of Ally and Davy as they return home to Scotland from the army. Ulster Bank Belfast Festival at Queen’s return to the Grand Opera House in late October, staging Brian Irvine's Postcards from Dumbworld from October 21 to 23 and Alan Bennett's The Habit of Art from October 26-30. Jimeoin and Bafta Award winning Armstrong and Millar take to the stage on October 31 and November 2 respectively. The Grand Opera House present Blaze – The Streetdance Sensation on November 6. The Waterboys, fronted by the legendary Mike Scott, present An Appointment with Mr Yeats, on November 9 and 10. Mark Little aka Neighbours' legendary Joe Mangel storms into the Grand Opera House on November 12 and 13 with the Olivier Award winning Defending the Caveman. Following the immense success of BBC1's Over the Rainbow – Search for Dorothy, New Lyric Operatic Company present The Wizard of Oz from November 16 to 21. Following her successful stint as a member of the Calendar Girls cast, Hannah Waterman returns to the Grand Opera House with the stage adaptation of Nina Bawden's awarding winning Carrie's War from November 23 to 27. Julia Donaldson's Room on the Broom will join Carre's War at the latter end of the week, providing early morning and afternoon performances, from November 25 to 27. 2010 concludes with the annual pantomime, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, from December 4 through to January 22..
